Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care and maintain patient rights and confidentiality across multiple Mercy departments (Med Surg, BH, ED, ICU, Women’s Health, L&D, M&B). The GIG RN program offers flexible, per diem/flex/PRN shifts with no guaranteed hours, allowing day or night shifts and a mix of 4, 8, or 12-hour shifts. Responsibilities include coordinating patient care with other departments, evaluating care effectiveness, and maintaining professional accountability within Mercy Service Standards. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand/walk for shifts, and meet state nursing requirements; clinical competencies include BLS (and ACLS/PALS for certain units) and Epic systems experience. Location options span multiple Mercy facilities throughout Missouri and Illinois, with in-person hospital-based assignments and variable scheduling.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Current RN license in the hiring state and/or compact licensure
- Minimum 1 year of bedside RN experience for Med Surg; minimum 2 years for specialties (ED, ICU, etc.)
- BLS certification for Med Surg, BH, and Women's Health; ACLS for Critical Care; BLS, ACLS, & PALS for ED
- Preferred: BSN
- Epic experience (preferred)
