Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care across Behavioral Health, Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, Medical-Surgical, and Women's Health departments. Maintain professional accountability for assigned patients, coordinate care with other departments, and ensure patient rights and confidentiality are upheld. Perform duties consistent with Mercy Service Standards while pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds regularly. Work various shifts including 4, 8, or 12-hour rotations at Mercy St. Louis, Jefferson, South, Washington, Lincoln, Perry, Southeast, and Stoddard facilities. Earn $40/hour plus variable shift incentives, with a requirement of a minimum 12 hours every 90 days. Be available on short notice, as the program does not offer guaranteed hours and may involve last-minute cancellations.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- BSN preferred
- Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements
- One year of recent bed-side RN experience to work Med Surg
- For all other specialties (ED, ICU, etc.) a minimum of two years of recent specialty specific bed-side RN experience
- For Med Surg, Behavioral Health and Women's Health (L&D, M&B) - BLS
- For Critical Care (CC) - BLS, ACLS
- For Emergency Department (ED) - BLS, ACLS, & PALS
- Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift
- Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Participation in the Gig Nursing Program requires being responsible for scheduling a minimum number of hours
- Participation in the Gig Nursing Program requires being available on short notice
- Participation in the Gig Nursing Program requires being flexible
- Participation in the Gig Nursing Program requires being subject to last minute shift cancellation
- No weekend, holiday, or shift requirement
