Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care while maintaining professional accountability for assigned patients. Coordinate patient care with other departments, evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by direct caregivers, and uphold patient rights and confidentiality. Work across Behavioral Health, Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, Medical-Surgical, and Women's Health departments at multiple Mercy locations including Cape Girardeau, St. Louis, and surrounding communities. This flexible, incentivized position requires a current RN license with one year of recent bedside Med-Surg experience or two years in specialty areas. You must be available on short notice, flexible with last-minute cancellations, and capable of lifting 50 pounds, prolonged standing, and walking. Earn $40/hour plus variable shift incentives with a minimum of 12 hours every 90 days.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure
- Meeting all state board of nursing requirements
- One year of recent bed-side RN experience to work Med Surg
- Minimum of two years of recent specialty specific bed-side RN experience for ED, ICU, Behavioral Health, and Women's Health specialties
- BLS certification for Med Surg, Behavioral Health, Women's Health (L&D, NICU, M&B), and Critical Care
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications for Emergency Department
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Availability on short notice
- Flexibility regarding shift scheduling
- Ability to work various shifts including day or night
- Responsibility for scheduling a minimum number of hours
- Willingness to be subject to last minute shift cancellation
