Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care while maintaining professional accountability for assigned patients. Coordinate care with other departments and evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by direct caregivers. Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of information consistent with Mercy Service Standards. Work across Behavioral Health, Emergency, ICU, Medical-Surgical, and Women's Health departments at multiple Mercy locations. Schedule a minimum of 12 hours every 90 days with flexible shifts ranging from 4 to 12 hours. Requires current RN license, recent bedside experience, and relevant certifications such as BLS, ACLS, or PALS.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure meeting all state board of nursing requirements
- One year of recent bed-side RN experience to work Med Surg
- Minimum of two years of recent specialty specific bed-side RN experience for all other specialties (ED, ICU, etc.)
- BLS certification for Med Surg, Behavioral Health, Women's Health (L&D, NICU, M&B)
- BLS and ACLS certifications for Critical Care (CC)
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications for Emergency Department (ED)
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Responsibility for scheduling a minimum number of hours
- Availability on short notice

- Ability to pick up day shift OR night shift
- No weekend, holiday, or shift requirement
