Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care while maintaining professional accountability for assigned patients. Coordinate patient care with other departments and evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by direct caregivers. Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information consistent with Mercy Service Standards. Work across departments including Behavioral Health, Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, and Medical-Surgical units at multiple Mercy locations in Missouri. Participate in the Gig Nursing Program by scheduling a minimum of 12 hours every 90 days, remaining available on short notice, and accepting flexible shifts ranging from 4 to 12 hours.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure
- Meeting all state board of nursing requirements
- One year of recent bed-side RN experience to work Med Surg
- Two years of recent specialty specific bed-side RN experience for ED, ICU, Behavioral Health, and Women's Health specialties
- BLS certification for Med Surg, Behavioral Health, Women's Health (L&D, NICU, M&B), and Critical Care
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications for Emergency Department
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Availability on short notice
