Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care across Behavioral Health, Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, Medical-Surgical, and Women's Health departments. Coordinate patient care with other departments while maintaining professional accountability and patient confidentiality. Perform duties consistent with Mercy Service Standards, including lifting up to 50 pounds and prolonged standing or walking. Schedule a minimum of 12 hours every 90 days with flexibility to work various shifts, including day or night, subject to last-minute cancellations. Earn $40/hour plus variable shift incentives as a W-2 employee.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure meeting all state board of nursing requirements
- One year of recent bed-side RN experience to work Med Surg
- Minimum of two years of recent specialty specific bed-side RN experience for ED, ICU, Behavioral Health, and Women's Health specialties
- BLS certification for Med Surg, Behavioral Health, Women's Health (L&D, NICU, M&B), and Critical Care
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications for Emergency Department
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Availability on short notice
- Flexibility regarding scheduling
- Ability to work various shifts including day and night shifts
- Willingness to be subject to last minute shift cancellation
- Understanding of patient rights and confidentiality of patient information
- Professional accountability for provision of patient care
- Ability to evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers
- Ability to coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments
- Ability to perform duties consistent with mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards
- Minimum 12 hours every 90 days commitment
