Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care across Behavioral Health, Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, and Medical-Surgical units while maintaining professional accountability for assigned patients. Coordinate patient care with other departments, evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by direct caregivers, and ensure adherence to patient rights and confidentiality standards. Perform duties consistent with Mercy Service Standards, requiring the ability to lift 50 pounds, stand, and walk for prolonged periods. Participate in a flexible Gig Nursing Program with no weekend or holiday requirements, scheduling a minimum of 12 hours every 90 days across various shifts at multiple Mercy locations.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure meeting all state board of nursing requirements
- One year of recent bed-side RN experience to work Med Surg
- Minimum of two years of recent specialty specific bed-side RN experience for all other specialties (ED, ICU, etc.)
- BLS certification for Med Surg, Behavioral Health, Women's Health (L&D, NICU, M&B)
- BLS and ACLS certifications for Critical Care (CC)
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications for Emergency Department (ED)
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Responsibility for scheduling a minimum number of hours
- Availability on short notice
