Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care, maintain professional accountability, and coordinate care across departments including Behavioral Health, Emergency, ICU, and Medical-Surgical units. Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers while ensuring patient rights and confidentiality are upheld. Schedule a minimum of 12 hours every 90 days and remain available on short notice, accepting various shifts from 4 to 12 hours with no weekend or holiday requirements. Participate in the Gig Nursing Program where you may be subject to last-minute shift cancellations. Earn $40/hour plus variable shift incentives while working across multiple Mercy locations in Missouri.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure meeting all state board of nursing requirements
- One year of recent bed-side RN experience to work Med Surg
- Minimum of two years of recent specialty specific bed-side RN experience for all other specialties (ED, ICU, etc.)
- BLS certification for Med Surg, Behavioral Health, Women's Health (L&D, NICU, M&B)
- BLS and ACLS certifications for Critical Care (CC)
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications for Emergency Department (ED)
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Responsibility for scheduling a minimum number of hours
- Availability on short notice
