Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care while maintaining professional accountability for assigned patients. Coordinate care with other departments and evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by direct caregivers. Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information consistent with Mercy Service Standards. This flexible position offers $40/hour plus variable shift incentives, with shifts ranging from 4 to 12 hours. Requirements include a current RN license, one year of recent bed-side Med Surg experience (or two years for specialties like ED, ICU, or Behavioral Health), and relevant certifications such as BLS, ACLS, or PALS. Candidates must be available on short notice and subject to last-minute cancellations. Locations include Mercy Perry, St. Louis, Jefferson, and surrounding communities.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure meeting all state board of nursing requirements
- One year of recent bed-side RN experience to work Med Surg
- Minimum of two years of recent specialty specific bed-side RN experience for ED, ICU, Behavioral Health, and Women's Health specialties
- BLS certification for Med Surg, Behavioral Health, Women's Health (L&D, NICU, M&B), and Critical Care specialties
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications for Emergency Department specialties
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Availability on short notice

- No weekend, holiday, or shift requirement
