Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care while maintaining professional accountability for assigned patients. Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers and coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information while performing duties consistent with Mercy Service Standards. Work in various departments including Behavioral Health, Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, Medical-Surgical, and Women's Health across multiple facilities. Schedule a minimum of 12 hours every 90 days with shifts ranging from 4 to 12 hours, subject to last-minute cancellations. Earn $40/hour plus variable shift incentives as a W-2 employee.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure
- Meeting all state board of nursing requirements
- One year of recent bed-side RN experience to work Med Surg
- Two years of recent specialty specific bed-side RN experience for ED, ICU, Behavioral Health, and Women's Health specialties
- BLS certification for Med Surg, Behavioral Health, Women's Health (L&D, NICU, M&B), and Critical Care
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications for Emergency Department
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Availability on short notice
- Flexibility regarding scheduling
- Subject to last minute shift cancellation
- Ability to pick up day shift OR night shift
- No weekend, holiday, or shift requirement
