Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care across Behavioral Health, Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, Medical-Surgical, and Women's Health departments. Maintain professional accountability for assigned patients while coordinating care with other departments and evaluating the effectiveness of care provided by direct caregivers. Participate in the Gig Nursing Program by scheduling a minimum of 12 hours every 90 days, remaining available on short notice, and accepting last-minute shift cancellations. Work various shifts including 4, 8, or 12-hour rotations at Mercy Lincoln and surrounding communities, with no weekend or holiday requirements. Push, pull, or lift 50 pounds regularly while standing, walking, and performing physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and squatting.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure meeting all state board of nursing requirements
- One year of recent bed-side RN experience to work Med Surg
- Minimum of two years of recent specialty specific bed-side RN experience for all other specialties (ED, ICU, etc.)
- BLS certification for Med Surg, Behavioral Health, Women's Health (L&D, NICU, M&B)
- BLS and ACLS certifications for Critical Care (CC)
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications for Emergency Department (ED)
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Responsibility for obtaining and maintaining licensure
- Responsibility for scheduling a minimum number of hours
- Availability on short notice
- Flexibility and subject to last minute shift cancellation
- Ability to pick up day shift OR night shift
- No weekend, holiday, or shift requirement
