Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care across Behavioral Health, Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, Medical-Surgical, and Women's Health units while maintaining professional accountability and coordinating care with other departments. Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by direct caregivers and ensure adherence to patient rights and confidentiality standards. Perform duties consistent with Mercy Service Standards, requiring the ability to lift 50 pounds, stand, and walk for prolonged periods. Participate in a flexible Gig Nursing Program with variable shifts, short-notice availability, and last-minute cancellation risks, earning $40/hour plus incentives. Minimum 12 hours every 90 days are required.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure
- Meeting all state board of nursing requirements
- One year of recent bed-side RN experience to work Med Surg
- Two years of recent specialty specific bed-side RN experience for ED, ICU, Behavioral Health, and Women's Health specialties
- BLS certification for Med Surg, Behavioral Health, Women's Health (L&D, NICU, M&B), and Critical Care
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications for Emergency Department
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Availability on short notice

- No weekend, holiday, or shift requirement
