Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care while maintaining professional accountability for assigned patients. Coordinate care with other departments and evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by direct caregivers. Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information consistent with Mercy Service Standards. Work across Behavioral Health, Emergency Department, ICU, Medical-Surgical, and Women's Health units at multiple Mercy locations. Participate in the Gig Nursing Program by scheduling a minimum of 12 hours every 90 days, accepting various shifts including day or night, and remaining available on short notice. Expect last-minute shift cancellations and variable incentive pay.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure
- Meeting all state board of nursing requirements
- One year of recent bed-side RN experience to work Med Surg
- Two years of recent specialty specific bed-side RN experience for ED, ICU, Behavioral Health, Women's Health (L&D, NICU, M&B)
- BLS certification for Med Surg, Behavioral Health, Women's Health (L&D, NICU, M&B)
- BLS and ACLS certifications for Critical Care (CC)
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications for Emergency Department (ED)
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Availability on short notice
- Flexibility regarding scheduling
- Subject to last minute shift cancellation
- Responsibility for scheduling a minimum number of hours
- Ability to pick up day shift OR night shift
