Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care while maintaining professional accountability for assigned patients. Coordinate care with other departments and evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by direct caregivers. Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of information consistent with Mercy Service Standards. Work in Behavioral Health, Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, Medical-Surgical, or Women's Health units. Participate in the Gig Nursing Program requiring a minimum of 12 hours every 90 days, with availability on short notice and subject to last-minute cancellations. Earn $40/hour plus variable shift incentives.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure
- Meeting all state board of nursing requirements
- One year of recent bed-side RN experience to work Med Surg
- Two years of recent specialty specific bed-side RN experience for ED, ICU, Behavioral Health, Women's Health (L&D, NICU, M&B)
- BLS certification for Med Surg, Behavioral Health, and Women's Health (L&D, NICU, M&B)
- BLS and ACLS certifications for Critical Care (CC)
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications for Emergency Department (ED)
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Availability for various shifts including day or night
- Responsibility for scheduling a minimum number of hours
- Availability on short notice
- Flexibility and ability to be subject to last minute shift cancellation
