Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care across Behavioral Health, Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, Medical-Surgical, and Women's Health departments. Maintain professional accountability for assigned patients, coordinate care with other departments, and ensure patient rights and confidentiality are upheld. Perform duties consistent with Mercy Service Standards, including lifting 50 pounds and prolonged standing. Schedule a minimum of 12 hours every 90 days while working various shifts up to 30 hours weekly. Obtain and maintain a current RN license and relevant certifications such as BLS, ACLS, or PALS based on specialty. Work at Mercy Jefferson and surrounding communities in Missouri.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure
- Meeting all state board of nursing requirements
- One year of recent bed-side RN experience to work Med Surg
- Two years of recent specialty specific bed-side RN experience for ED, ICU, Behavioral Health, and Women's Health specialties
- BLS certification for Med Surg, Behavioral Health, Women's Health (L&D, NICU, M&B), and Critical Care
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications for Critical Care and Emergency Department
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Availability on short notice
- Flexibility regarding scheduling
- Subject to last minute shift cancellation
- Ability to pick up day shift OR night shift
- No weekend, holiday, or shift requirement
