Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care while maintaining professional accountability for assigned patients. Coordinate care across departments, evaluate effectiveness of other direct caregivers, and uphold patient rights and confidentiality. Work in Behavioral Health, Emergency Department, ICU, Medical-Surgical, or Women's Health units at multiple Mercy locations. Schedule minimum 12 hours every 90 days with shifts ranging from 4 to 12 hours, available day or night. Earn $40/hour plus variable shift incentives. Requires current RN license, one year of Med-Surg experience or two years in specialty areas, and BLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure meeting all state board of nursing requirements
- One year of recent bed-side RN experience to work Med Surg
- Two years of recent specialty specific bed-side RN experience for all other specialties (ED, ICU, etc.)
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Responsibility for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure
- BLS certification for Med Surg, Behavioral Health, and Women's Health (L&D, NICU, M&B)
- BLS and ACLS certifications for Critical Care (CC)
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications for Emergency Department (ED)
- Availability on short notice
