Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care across Behavioral Health, Emergency, Intensive Care, and Medical-Surgical units while maintaining professional accountability. Coordinate patient care with other departments, evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by direct caregivers, and ensure compliance with Mercy Service Standards. Participate in the Gig Nursing Program by scheduling a minimum of 12 hours every 90 days, remaining available on short notice, and accepting flexible shifts ranging from 4 to 12 hours. Maintain current RN licensure and required certifications such as BLS, ACLS, or PALS depending on specialty. Push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly while enduring prolonged standing and walking. Work at Mercy Jefferson and surrounding communities including St. Louis, Festus, and South St. Louis County.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure meeting all state board of nursing requirements
- One year of recent bed-side RN experience to work Med Surg
- Minimum of two years of recent specialty specific bed-side RN experience for all other specialties (ED, ICU, etc.)
- BLS certification for Med Surg, Behavioral Health, Women's Health (L&D, NICU, M&B)
- BLS and ACLS certifications for Critical Care (CC)
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications for Emergency Department (ED)
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Availability on short notice

- Ability to pick up day shift OR night shift
- No weekend, holiday, or shift requirement
