Job Summary
Provide patient care on the General Surgery Medical-Surgical inpatient unit using the nursing process while maintaining professional accountability. Coordinate care with other departments, evaluate effectiveness of direct care givers, and uphold patient rights and confidentiality. Perform duties consistent with Mercy mission, values, and service standards. Requires current Missouri RN license, BLS certification, and ability to lift 50 lbs and stand/walk throughout night shifts (7:00 PM–7:30 AM). Part-time schedule of 24 hours/week available for experienced or new graduate nurses.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: Associate Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
Desired Qualifications
- Previous hospital experience
- BSN
- Additional state licensure or specialty certifications
- Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting
