Job Summary
Provide patient care on the General Surgery Medical-Surgical inpatient unit using the nursing process while maintaining professional accountability. Coordinate care with other departments and evaluate the effectiveness of direct care givers. Uphold patient rights and confidentiality while performing duties consistent with Mercy's mission and service standards. This night shift role (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) runs 24 hours per week at Mercy Hospital South. Sign-on bonuses of up to $10,000 for experienced nurses or $5,000 for new graduates are available.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an Associate Degree in Nursing
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Nursing Diploma
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri
- Compact licensure in accordance with state board of nursing regulations
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
- Completion of BLS certification within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
