Job Summary
Provide patient care on the General Surgery Medical-Surgical inpatient unit using the nursing process, maintaining accountability for assigned patients and evaluating the effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinate patient care with other departments while ensuring patient rights and confidentiality are upheld. Perform duties consistent with Mercy's mission, values, and service standards. Requires current Missouri RN licensure, BLS certification, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs with prolonged standing. Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, part-time 24 hours per week. Sign-on bonuses available for experienced and new graduate nurses.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: Associate Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations
- Previous hospital experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties

- Additional state licensure or specialty certifications
- Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting
