Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for assigned patients on the General Surgery Medical-Surgical inpatient unit. Maintain professional accountability for care provision, evaluate the effectiveness of other direct care givers, and coordinate patient care with other departments. Uphold patient rights and confidentiality while adhering to Mercy service standards. This night shift role (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) is part-time at 24 hours per week. Sign-on bonuses of up to $10,000 for experienced nurses and $5,000 for new graduates are available.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an Associate Degree in Nursing
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Nursing Diploma
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri
- Compact licensure in accordance with state board of nursing regulations
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
- Completion of BLS certification within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
