Job Summary
Provide patient care on the General Surgery Medical-Surgical inpatient unit using the nursing process while maintaining professional accountability. Coordinate care with other departments, evaluate the effectiveness of direct care givers, and uphold patient rights and confidentiality. Perform duties consistent with Mercy's mission, values, and service standards. Requires a current Missouri RN license, BLS certification, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, part-time 24 hours/week. Experienced nurses eligible for up to $10,000 sign-on bonus; new graduates up to $5,000.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: Associate Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
- Previous hospital experience
