Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for assigned patients on the General Surgery Medical-Surgical inpatient unit. Maintain professional accountability for care provision, evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers, and coordinate patient care with other departments. Ensure patient rights and confidentiality of information are upheld while performing duties consistent with Mercy service standards. Work night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 24 hours per week, as a part-time Registered Nurse.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: Associate Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
Desired Qualifications
- Previous hospital experience
- BSN
- Additional state licensure or specialty certifications
- Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting
