Job Summary
Provide patient care on a General Surgery Medical-Surgical inpatient unit using the nursing process, maintaining professional accountability and coordinating care with other departments. Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by direct care givers while ensuring patient rights and confidentiality are upheld. Perform duties consistent with Mercy's mission, values, and service standards, including lifting up to 50 lbs and prolonged standing. Requires a current Missouri RN license, BLS certification, and an accredited nursing degree (BSN preferred). Full-time night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an Associate Degree in Nursing
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Nursing Diploma
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri
- Compact licensure in accordance with state board of nursing regulations
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
- Completion of BLS certification within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
