Job Summary
Provide patient care on the General Surgery Medical-Surgical inpatient unit using the nursing process. Maintain professional accountability for assigned patients and coordinate care with other departments while ensuring patient rights and confidentiality. Perform duties consistent with Mercy service standards, including basic life support protocols. Requires current Missouri RN license, BLS certification, and an accredited nursing degree (BSN preferred). Full-time 36-hour week including night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Sign-on bonuses available for experienced and new graduate nurses.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: Associate Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
- Full-Time employment (36 hours/week)
- Night Shift (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)

- Additional state licensure or specialty certifications
- Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting
