Job Summary
Provide patient care on the General Surgery Medical-Surgical inpatient unit using the nursing process. Maintain professional accountability for assigned patients, coordinate care with other departments, and uphold patient rights and confidentiality. Perform duties consistent with Mercy service standards while adhering to a full-time 36-hour week schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. This role is not an Operating Room position.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: Associate Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
- Previous hospital experience
