Job Summary
Provide patient care on the General Surgery Medical-Surgical inpatient unit using the nursing process. Maintain professional accountability for assigned patients, coordinate care with other departments, and uphold patient rights and confidentiality. Perform duties consistent with Mercy service standards while utilizing the nursing process to evaluate care effectiveness. Requires a current Missouri RN license, BLS certification, and an Associate, Diploma, or BSN degree. Full-time night shift (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) with a 36-hour weekly schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an Associate Degree in Nursing
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Nursing Diploma
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri
- Compact licensure in accordance with state board of nursing regulations
- Previous hospital experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
