Job Summary
Provide patient care on the General Surgery Medical-Surgical inpatient unit using the nursing process. Maintain professional accountability for assigned patients, coordinate care with other departments, and ensure patient rights and confidentiality are upheld. Perform duties consistent with Mercy's mission, values, and service standards. Requires current Missouri RN license, BLS certification, and ability to lift 50 lbs while standing or walking throughout the night shift (7:00 PM–7:30 AM). Full-time 36-hour schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an Associate Degree in Nursing
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Nursing Diploma
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri
- Compact licensure in accordance with state board of nursing regulations
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
- Completion of BLS certification within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
