Job Summary
Provide patient care on the General Surgery Medical-Surgical inpatient unit using the nursing process. Maintain professional accountability for assigned patients, coordinate care with other departments, and ensure patient rights and confidentiality are upheld. Perform duties consistent with Mercy service standards while utilizing the nursing process to evaluate care effectiveness. This full-time night shift role (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) offers a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 for experienced nurses or $5,000 for new graduates. The position requires an RN license in Missouri, BLS certification, and physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: Associate Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
- Night Shift | 7:00 PM-7:30 AM
Desired Qualifications
- BSN preferred
- Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred
- Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting
- Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit
