Job Summary
Provide patient care on the General Surgery Medical-Surgical inpatient unit using the nursing process. Maintain professional accountability for assigned patients, coordinate care with other departments, and evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by direct care givers. Ensure patient rights and confidentiality are upheld while adhering to Mercy service standards. This role requires a current Missouri RN license, BLS certification, and an Associate, Diploma, or BSN in Nursing. Full-time night shift coverage (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) includes a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 for experienced nurses or $5,000 for new graduates.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: Associate Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
- Full-Time employment (36 hours/week)
- Night Shift (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
Desired Qualifications
- Previous hospital experience
- BSN
- Additional state licensure or specialty certifications
- Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting
