Job Summary
Provide patient care on the General Surgery Medical-Surgical inpatient unit using the nursing process. Maintain professional accountability for assigned patients, evaluate care effectiveness by direct care givers, and coordinate care with other departments while safeguarding patient rights and confidentiality. Perform duties consistent with Mercy's mission, values, and service standards. This day shift role (7:00 AM–7:00 PM) offers a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 for experienced nurses or $5,000 for new graduates. Join a collaborative team where your voice matters.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an Associate Degree in Nursing
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Nursing Diploma
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri
- Compact licensure in accordance with state board of nursing regulations
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
- Completion of BLS certification within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
