Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for assigned patients on the General Surgery Medical-Surgical inpatient unit. Maintain professional accountability for care provision, evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers, and coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments. Ensure patient rights and confidentiality of patient information are upheld while performing duties consistent with Mercy's mission, values, and service standards. This role requires a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri, BLS certification, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk throughout the day shift (7:00 AM-7:00 PM). Full-time employment offers a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 for experienced nurses or $5,000 for new graduates.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: Associate Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations
- Previous hospital experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
