Job Summary
Provide patient care on the General Surgery Medical-Surgical inpatient unit using the nursing process. Maintain professional accountability for assigned patients and evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinate patient care with other departments while maintaining patient rights and confidentiality of information. Perform duties consistent with Mercy's mission, values, and service standards. This role requires a current RN license in Missouri, BLS certification, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk throughout the shift. Schedule includes full-time day shift hours from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an Associate Degree in Nursing
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Nursing Diploma
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri
- Compact licensure in accordance with state board of nursing regulations
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
- Completion of BLS certification within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
