Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients on a 36-bed medical-surgical unit, including post-operative care from adolescence to adulthood and bariatric recovery. Assign or delegate tasks to LPNs and support staff based on patient needs and skill levels, while managing charge duties such as assigning lunches. Utilize the nursing process to derive culturally and age-appropriate outcomes, analyze health status data, and intervene appropriately when patient conditions change. Participate in interdisciplinary teams for quality initiatives and evidence-based practice, promote patient safety goals, and provide verbal and written feedback to peers. Maintain a safe environment by resolving patient and family concerns and continuously evaluate satisfaction metrics.
