Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care and instruct/supervise LPN and Hospice Aide staff in patient delivery. Assess physical and mental health, record results, and plan, initiate, and evaluate nursing acts. Teach, assign, or supervise personnel in treatment regimens and collaborate with providers on patient-centered care plans. Implement prescribed pharmaceutical regimens and provide health counseling. Maintain safe, effective care standards across multiple clinical settings, departments, and geographic regions while adapting to staffing vacancies, leaves of absence, high census, or after-hours needs. Accept assignments of varying lengths based on operational priorities and function as a flexible clinical resource. Work flexible hours including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, with travel throughout the 15-county service area.
Required Qualifications
- Accredited School of Nursing
- Registered Nurse Graduate
- Valid North Carolina Registered Nurse license
- Valid Driver's License and proof of automobile insurance
- Two years of clinical experience
- Hospice or home health experience
- Knowledge of Federal, State and Local regulations and Medicare Conditions of Participation
- Knowledge of HIPAA privacy rules and regulations
- Knowledge of electronic medical records systems
- Demonstrate basic data entry skills
- Demonstrate excellent organizational skills
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Ability to take initiative and utilize innovative techniques and ingenuity
- Ability to interact with various departments throughout the organization
- Ability to participate as a team player to coordinate projects
- Ability to plan, prioritize and coordinate multiple projects
- Demonstrate adaptability and resilience in changing clinical environments

- Comfortable working in multiple clinical settings, departments, service lines, and patient populations
- Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and after hours, based on organizational need
- Ability to travel throughout the organization's service area based on assignment
- Demonstrate skill/expertise in pain and symptom management
- Demonstrate ability to effectively collaborate and facilitate the work of a group
- Demonstrate understanding of reimbursement, regulatory requirements, and Medicare Conditions of Participation
- Must be willing and able to care for patients with infectious disease processes unless approved accommodations
- Lifting/carrying of 50 lbs. frequently
- Near and far visual acuity
- Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
- Ability to drive and/or transport self to and from work locations
- Ascending or descending stairs and ramps
- Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 100 pounds with the help of another person or equipment, occasionally
