Job Summary
RN Float Pool - Critical Care RN assesses and plans ongoing patient care, implements and evaluates plans with the healthcare team, and documents outcomes. Provides supervision of non-RN personnel, serves as preceptor and charge nurse, and supports education/post-discharge planning. Demonstrates competency in neuro patient care, neuro assessment, airway management, care for trached patients, and ventilator management; knowledgeable about Halo brace care and post-operative cardiac/vascular populations. Requires graduation from an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred) and CT RN licensure with current BCLS; clinical certification encouraged and advancement opportunities available.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred
- Licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Connecticut
- Current BCLS certification or ability to obtain within one month of hire
- Clinical specialty certification encouraged
- Encouraged participation in SPIRE clinical advancement program
- Ability to function as preceptor and charge nurse
- Strong clinical competency in neuro assessment, airway management, care of trached patients, and vent management
- Experience in neuro ICU or cardiac ICU settings preferred
