Job Summary
Registered Nurse Float Pool – Critical Care role involving ongoing assessment of patients' physical and psychosocial conditions, development and communication of individualized plans of care, collaboration with the healthcare team, and education planning post-discharge. Responsibilities include supervision of non-RN personnel, acting as charge nurse, precepting new staff, and delivering advanced care across neuro-critical scenarios. Must demonstrate competency in neuro care, airway management, tracheostomy/suctioning, ventilator care, Halo brace care, and participation in the TIA teaching program. Requires one year of acute nursing experience; BSN preferred; BLS required; Connecticut RN license is listed as licensure. The role includes coordination, education, and patient-family engagement across the continuum of care in a hospital setting.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate Of an Accredited School Of Nursing; BSN Preferred
- Valid State Of Connecticut Registered Nurse License
- 1 Year acute nursing experience required
- BLS Required
- Proficient in use of computer software to include Electronic Patient Records
- Ability to use Internet for literature searches regarding care for patients
