Job Summary
Registered Nurse in the RN Float Pool for Critical Care provides comprehensive inpatient care on assigned units, including assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and supervision of non-RN staff. Responsibilities include serving as Charge Nurse, precepting new staff, coordinating care with the healthcare team, educating patients and families, and adapting plans of care across neuro and critical care patient populations. Demonstrates skills in neuro assessment, airway management, suctioning (pharyngeal, endotracheal, tracheostomy), ventilator care, halo brace management, and specialized procedures per policy. Requires at least 1 year of Neonatal ICU RN experience; BSN preferred; CT RN licensure; proficient with EMR and continued professional development. Updates care plans, ensures discharge readiness, and supports patient-centered care under supervision of Nurse Manager/Clinical Coordinator.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate Of An Accredited School Of Nursing; BSN Preferred
- Neonatal ICU RN experience required (1 year)
- Proficient in Electronic Medical Records/Computer software
- BLS Required
- Active State RN license (Connecticut)
