Job Summary
RN First Assistant (RNFA) in the OR providing perioperative patient care. Works side-by-side with surgeons to support patients before, during, and after surgery, applying advanced clinical skills and coordinating care with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality and adheres to Mercy Service Standards. Role is full-time (40 hours/week), days, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus, MO. Requires RN licensure and perioperative nursing experience; CNOR and RN-First Assistant certification within one year of hire/transfer, with BLS/ACLS within the first year. CNOR preferred. Key duties include assisting in surgical procedures, ensuring high standards of care, and contributing to a collaborative surgical team.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Licensure: Active RN licensure in the state of practice
- Experience: Must have a minimum of perioperative nursing experience
- Certifications: CNOR and RN-First Assistant class required within one year of hire/transfer. BLS/ACLS required within first year.
- Other: Demonstrates continued competence in assisting and in perioperative nursing.
