Job Summary

Organize and facilitate patients in the Operating Room, coordinating care between the surgeon, anesthesiologist, and room staff. Function as a first assistant during surgical incisions, excisions, and repairs while performing circulating and scrubbing duties. Handle and dissect tissues, clamp blood vessels, coagulate bleeding points, ligate vessels, suture tissue, and place drains in collaboration with the surgeon. Assist with patient transfers, positioning, prepping, and draping to maintain a safe, aseptic environment. Verify surgical sites, perform sponge and instrument counts, and prepare instruments per physician preference. Document nursing diagnoses, interventions, and discharge plans while mentoring staff. Requires RN licensure, RNFA certification, CNOR certification, and BLS/PALS; Bachelor's degree preferred. Located in Lodi, CA.

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
  • Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) certification in the state of practice
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
  • Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
  • All required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable
  • E-Verify participation acknowledgment

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Two years' perioperative nursing experience
  • Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA) certification
  • Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Status (PEARS)/Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
  • Association of perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN) membership
