Job Summary
Provide top-of-scope direct patient care in the Surgical Progressive Care Unit utilizing the nursing process, evidence-based practice, and a multidisciplinary team approach. Prioritize patient wellness and safety while modeling proficiency by precepting new healthcare staff. Participate in a four-phased AACN-based orientation involving simulation, blocked learning, and knowledge verification to transition from novice to expert competency. Support individualized specialty education and training for competency validation throughout clinical orientation.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years experience
- State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider and any relevant life support certification as determined at position level
- 6 months nursing (RN) experience
- BLS - BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date
- BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire
