Perform routine physical and psychosocial assessments to collect basic data while following written plans of care and standards. Formulate individualized plans of care for patient and population needs, adapting educational programs to modify teaching strategies during delivery. Make independent clinical decisions based on education and experience, ensuring efficiency in care delivery to determine immediate priorities. Actively advocate for patient rights and identify potential conflicts, seeking counsel for resolution. Requires Associate of Arts in Nursing with Labor and Delivery experience, plus BLS, ACLS, and NRP certification upon hire.
