Job Summary
Conduct thorough patient assessments, administer prescribed medications, and monitor for side effects while documenting findings accurately. Coordinate high-quality, patient-centered care in the ER by collaborating with physicians and the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans. Respond to medical emergencies, perform life-saving interventions such as CPR and code team activities, and assist physicians during procedures within your scope of competency. Implement infection control protocols, operate medical equipment like IV pumps and ventilators, and provide patient and family education on medical conditions and post-discharge care. This role requires 0-2 years of experience in an acute care setting and state RN licensure. Longview Regional Medical Center, a 224-bed facility, is nationally recognized for chest pain and stroke care.
Required Qualifications
- 0-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting
- Strong knowledge of the nursing process and clinical nursing practices
- Ability to perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings effectively
- Proficient in administering medications and monitoring for side effects
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documenting patient care
- Knowledge of safety standards, infection control, and quality improvement initiatives
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure
- BCLS - Basic Life Support
