Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department providing patient-centered care across the nursing process, coordinating with physicians and healthcare teams to deliver high-quality care. Responsibilities include thorough patient assessments, administration of prescribed medications, assisting physicians during procedures, monitoring patient conditions, implementing infection control protocols, operating medical equipment, documenting care, educating patients and families, and participating in performance improvement. Requires RN licensure and BCLS; ACLS/PALS preferred; 0-2 years in acute care setting or clinical rotations; supports a fast-paced ER environment with emphasis on safety, patient advocacy, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Required Qualifications
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure required
- BCLS - Basic Life Support required
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation preferred
- Experience: 0-2 years in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting required
- Knowledge of nursing process and clinical nursing practices
- Ability to perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings effectively
- Proficient in administering medications and monitoring for side effects
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documenting patient care
- Knowledge of safety standards, infection control, and quality improvement initiatives
- RN - State Licensure and/or Compact Licensure required
- ACLS/PALS/NRP preferred
- NR must be licensed to practice in the state of Mississippi (MS)
- Immunization/fit testing as per facility requirements
