Job Summary
RN ER PRN Nights provides patient-centered care in the ER using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation) and coordinates with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Responsibilities include conducting thorough patient assessments, administering prescribed medications, assisting physicians during procedures, documenting care, and ensuring patient safety. The role supports education for patients and families, adherence to infection control and safety protocols, and participation in audits and performance improvement. Emergency responsibilities include rapid assessment/triage, emergency procedures (e.g., intubation, wound care, suturing), IV starts, and life-support activities as needed. Requires state RN licensure and BCLS; ACLS/PALS/NRP preferred. Shift is nights with PRN (as-needed) scheduling; 0-2 years of clinical nursing experience preferred. Required Qualifications
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure required
- BCLS - Basic Life Support required
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support preferred
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation preferred
- 0-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting required
