Job Summary
Provide individualized and specialized nursing care to patients within the endoscopy center in accordance with physician orders, recognized nursing techniques, and state nursing practice laws. Plan, execute, and evaluate nursing care for patients throughout each phase of their experience while maintaining contact with the patient. Work independently with minimal supervision and be self-directed. May travel to a sister center as required. Maintain current State license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN), graduate from an accredited school of nursing, and hold Basic Cardiac Life Support certification. Complete the Airway Management Module prior to administering IV conscious sedation.
Required Qualifications
- Current State license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Ability to work under stress
- Moderate periods of sitting and computer use
- Good visual acuity
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl
- Ability to reach, grasp, use fine finger movement and feel sensation to discern temperature, texture, size, and shape
- Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time
- lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 25 pounds
- Maintains Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
- Completion of Airway Management Module
- Score of 100% on conscious sedation module post-test
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in GI endoscopy preferred
- Membership in GI specialty or other local, state, or national professional societies encouraged
- ACLS certification is recommended, but optional
