Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) in Endoscopy provides individualized and specialized nursing care to patients in accordance with physician orders, recognized nursing techniques, and legal aspects of nursing practice. Responsibilities include planning, executing, and evaluating nursing care, with patient contact throughout their experience. Must be self-directed and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to work under stress and perform physical tasks such as lifting, standing, and walking. Required qualifications include a current RN license, graduation from an accredited nursing program, BCLS certification, and completion of an airway management module.
Required Qualifications
- Current State license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Maintains Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
- Completion of Airway Management Module is required prior to administering IV conscious sedation. Score of 100% on conscious sedation module post-test.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in GI endoscopy preferred.
- Membership in GI specialty or other local, state, or national professional societies encouraged.
- ACLS certification recommended, but optional.
