Job Summary
The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle using nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care. Works within organizational policies and procedures, demonstrates professional growth and accountability, and coordinates patient care activities of all assigned staff to provide quality nursing care. Requires graduate nursing education with potential for Bachelor’s degree; active Georgia RN licensure; BCLS; ACLS/PALS/NRP or related certifications as specified by units; and hospital-based experience or new graduate eligibility for PRN/staff roles. Responsibilities emphasize standard-of-care adherence, collaboration across care teams, and ongoing professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing (Required)
- Bachelors Degree Preferred
- No experience required; New Graduates of a nursing program eligible (Required)
- Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting Preferred
- 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions Preferred
- RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License (Required)
- BCLS - Basic Life Support Required
- ACLS Certification - (within 180 Days for various addenda) Required or within orientation period as applicable
- PALS/NRP/PEARS as indicated by unit (within 180 Days) Required
- Pediatrics: PALS or NRP as required by unit (within 180 Days) Required
- Infusion/Oncology: Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification prior to independent chemotherapy administration Upon Hire Required
- Womens Services: NRP by end of orientation period, AWHONN/PEARS/PALS requirements within specified periods (Required)
- Surgical Services: ACLS; PALS if pediatric care; BLS required within 180 Days
- NICU/National requirements: NRP by end of orientation period (Required)
- Lab/tech/clinical addenda as applicable (within 6 months)
