Job Summary
RN Emergency Room - Mids provides high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in the emergency department in collaboration with medical providers and the care team. Responsibilities include assessing pain, performing procedures and treatments as ordered, documenting care, educating patients and families about conditions, treatment plans, medications, potential side effects, and follow-up measures, and preparing patients for self-management. The role emphasizes advocacy, adherence to nursing models (Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage), and a commitment to optimizing patient outcomes and departmental performance. Required qualifications include pediatric lifesaving and trauma certifications with time-bound availability (PALS within 90 days, TNCC within 1 year, ACLS or ACLS Instructor within 90 days, BCLS or instructor within 30 days, Nonviolent Crisis Intervention within 1 year). Required Qualifications
- PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
- Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
- (RN) Registered Nurse
- Associate Degree
- Advanced Cardiac Life Spt, or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Nonviolent Crisis Interv Inst, or Nonviolent Crisis Intervention, or Satori Alternatives Manag Aggr must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
