Job Summary
Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room at LewisGale Medical Center in Cave Spring, VA. Delivers high-quality, patient-centered care per department standards; assesses pain and manages follow-up; performs procedures and documents care; educates patients and families about conditions, treatment plans, and lifestyle changes; supports ongoing patient self-management. Requires RN license and nursing degree (BSN or ADN) with ACLS, BCLS, and PALS certifications or instructors within specified timelines. Work within a major hospital setting as part of a multidisciplinary care team, contributing to clinical outcomes within a Heart Center-focused, acute care environment.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Bachelor's Degree or Associate Degree in Nursing
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or ACLS Instructor within 1 year of employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or Instructor within 30 days of employment start date
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or PALS Instructor within 1 year of employment start date
- State and departmental scope and standards of practice alignment
- Ability to coordinate and deliver patient-centered care in collaboration with medical providers
